Gross-to-net salary in Mexico for five income levels: income tax, social contributions, monthly take-home pay and effective rate — plus how Mexico compares with the US, UK, Germany, Japan and Korea on the same income.

Mexico's nearshoring wave is pulling engineers to Monterrey and Guadalajara, where a MX$60,000 monthly salary keeps about 78% after ISR and IMSS. The aguinaldo (at least 15 days' pay in December) and profit-sharing (PTU, up to 3 months) push real annual income well above 12× the monthly figure.

How deductions work in Mexico

ISR is progressive from 1.92% to 35% across eleven brackets (top rate above ~MX$4.5M a year); an employment subsidy reduces tax at the lowest incomes. Employee IMSS contributions are roughly 2.5–3% of salary, capped at 25× the UMA. Employers pay a much larger IMSS/Infonavit/retirement share (~25–30%) on top.
